Youth and Young Adult Ministries

Sunday School/Small Groups

One of the most important things we do is Sunday School/Small Groups. We have five small group classes      who have a lot of fun hanging out together. We gather     each Sunday at 9:15 am for a large group Bible Study,         and then break up into our small groups for discussion           of the Bible lesson and planning ways to be active as             a team in serving God.

Wednesday Night Youth Service

Every WEDNESDAY night our students come out to Metanoia.                       Metanoia is a contemporary service running from 6:00 to 7:00 pm                             in The Outback. It involves music, games, and a Bible-centered message,             along with occasional snacks and party atmospheres.                                             The Outback is open for our students (Grades 7-12) from 5pm-8pm.                       We have basketball, pool, video games and many other activities                      before and after worship.

Each February we have a Disciple Now weekend.                                                   This involves many churches in Decatur and the surrounding area coming       together and having great worship and a solid, impacting weekend.

Each summer we go on some type of mission trip. There the students will get out of their comfort zone and step up and have an impact on the world. It is also a fun time where they spend time with the rest of the group praying, praising and witnessing together.

We also have service projects.         Some in the past have included Operation Christmas Child, visits to nursing homes, and various   international mission projects.

College and Young Adult

Perhaps the most challenging period of life comes in the first few years after graduation from high school. New responsibilities, new
freedoms, major life changes, relationships . . . all of this and so much more. Honestly, this stage of life can feel a bit like being on
a ship that is being tossed about by huge waves. Life can seem meaningless, and there are so many attacks upon the things you
were taught as a child that it is hard to know what to believe anymore! What am I here for? Who has the answers I need?
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). He is the way to meet every challenge that may come your way. He
is the truth on which to anchor your mind when it is being attacked by the insanity of a world gone crazy. And He is the life full of
meaning and significance. That is the Jesus we want to help you discover!
Thought provoking Bible study, resources for personal growth as a disciple of Christ, opportunities for giving of yourself in ministry, and life-changing missions adventures . . . all of this and more is awaiting you at Central Park. We aren't the biggest and we certainly aren't the flashiest, but if you want a chance to make a difference, you will find your place alongside us as we seek to be all God wants us to be!
